General Surgery Residency-Preliminary Position

VCU Health’s General Surgery Residency Program is now accepting applications for one Preliminary PGY-2 Resident position to begin training on July 1, 2022 in Richmond, Virginia.

Prerequisites:

Qualified applicants must be a current PGY-1 General Surgery Resident in good standing at an ACGME-accredited residency program with ABSITE minimum percentile of 30 this year. Foreign medical graduates must be ECFMG certified; only J-1 Visas are accepted.

  • ERAS Application (if available)
  • Current Curriculum Vitae
  • USMLE Transcript (Step I, Step II, and Step III)
  • Three current letters of recommendation; one of which must be from the current Program Director
  • Medical School transcript, diploma, and Dean’s letter
  • ACGME Case Log Defined Category Report to date
  • All ABSITE Scores to date - must have a minimum of 30 percentile this year
