General Surgery Residency - Categorical Position

The University of Florida General Surgery Residency Program is seeking one (1) PGY3 categorical resident to begin work on to July 1, 2023.

Prerequisites:

The applicant must successfully have completed or be anticipated to complete by July 1, a PGY1 and PGY2 year within an ACGME-accredited surgical residency program.

Applicants should be currently enrolled in an ACGME accredited program and have no gaps in training.

How To Apply:

Interested applicants must submit the following documents via email:

  • current CV,
  • medical school diploma,
  • medical school transcript,
  • MSPE (Dean's letter),
  • 3 letters of recommendation (1 letter must be from the current Program Director),
  • USMLE Transcript (a first-time pass on both exams is required – score reports will not be accepted),
  • ECFMG certification if an international medical graduate,
  • ABSITE scores,
  • personal statement,
  • current ACGME Surgical Operative Defined Category Report,
  • ACGME General Surgery 2-year Minimum report.

Because of the short time horizon, we cannot provide Visa sponsorship.

Only complete applications will be considered. Consolidation of all application materials in a single email is required, but letters of recommendation should be sent separately by the either the letter writers or current Program Coordinator.

Candidates selected for an interview will be notified via email.
