Musculoskeletal/Interventional Radiology Fellowship

Musculoskeletal/Interventional Radiology Fellowship

We are currently accepting applications for a fellowship position in the Department of Radiological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, for the academic year 2022-2023.

The Fellowship is at the Health Sciences Clinical Instructor level, based at UC Irvine Medical Center, and will have the benefits and privileges of this position through the University of California, Irvine.

Our mission, within the Department, and in a broader context as a University of California School of Medicine campus, is to provide an excellent educational experience so as to produce highly trained fellows who will go on to become leaders in their subfields. We believe that we provide an optimal combination of study volume, procedure volume, experience with sequencing/protocoling, academic time, and optional research time, to produce very knowledgeable, balanced radiologists, with cutting edge knowledge of their subspecialties.

A combined one-year fellowship is offered in Musculoskeletal Radiology and Interventional Radiology. The MSK segment of the fellowship will provide experience in image-guided interventional musculoskeletal procedures including arthrography, musculoskeletal injections and aspirations, tendon interventions, soft tissue and bone biopsies in the axial and appendicular skeleton, thermal ablation of osseous metastases and benign bone tumors, and cementoplasty. Advanced training is provided in interpretation of musculoskeletal MRI (including spine MRI), CT, and radiography. The IR segment of the fellowship will provide experience in the entire gamut of modern interventional radiology care with exposure to a myriad of image guided procedures, as well as pre- and post-procedure management.
