Advanced Fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease

NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Advanced Fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), offered by the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, trains future leaders in IBD clinical care, education, and research.

During this one-year program, you work under the supervision of our expert physicians, surgeons, and other team members and receive comprehensive education and extensive inpatient, outpatient, and research experience in the area of IBD.

Prerequisites:

Each year, we accept one fellow, who must be a postgrad and have completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)–accredited gastroenterology fellowship.

  • U.S. Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE®) scores for Steps 1, 2, and 3
  • valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates® (ECFMG®) certificate, if you graduated from a medical school outside the United States
  • residency completion certificate
  • personal statement
  • your CV
  • three letters of reference, including one from your gastroenterology fellowship program director
