The one-year Advanced Oncology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota, is designed for physicians who have completed an accredited Medical Oncology fellowship and who are planning a career in one of seven specialty areas:
The Advanced Oncology Fellowship includes opportunities to develop expertise in the evaluation and treatment of oncologic diseases through supervised longitudinal care of outpatients with leading academic experts in the field. The program structure includes well-rounded clinical training with research opportunities with world-class investigators and clinicians in a collegial environment.

To apply to the Advanced Oncology Fellowship, you need to have successfully completed accredited training in internal medicine and oncology.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or foreign nationals who have or qualify for appropriate visa sponsorship and are eligible for a Minnesota medical license.
Mayo Clinic's academic year begins in July. Applications are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis. You are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
If you have not yet taken the United States Medical Licensing Examination Step 3 examination by the application date, you must declare your intent to pass it by January, six months prior to the start date, to be considered for the Advanced Oncology Fellowship. Adequate time for licensure by July is a requirement for starting the fellowship.
