Bariatric & Minimally Invasive Surgery

Bariatric & Minimally Invasive Surgery

Geisinger's Bariatric and Foregut Surgical Fellowship is a busy one-year clinical program for advanced minimally invasive training. The fellowship’s mission is to provide fellows with a large operative experience and expertise in the field of bariatric and foregut surgery.

The bariatric program is heavily geared towards anastomotic procedures. Bariatric procedures are performed on both the laparoscopic and robotic platforms. Fellows will learn a comprehensive approach to bariatric surgery to include advanced endoscopic management of complications. Fellows will participate in clinical outcomes research and present at the annual American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) meeting. At the completion of training fellows will qualify to the ASMBS certificate of training in bariatric surgery.
