Gastrointestinal & Hepatic Pathology Fellowship

Led by director Wenqing Cao, MD. Opens in a new tab, NYU Langone’s Department of Pathology offers a 44-week post-residency fellowship in gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology. This fellowship is not accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Our subspecialty service handles more than 35,000 gastrointestinal cases, 1,100 liver cases, and 200 pancreas cases per year. The fellowship program includes education and training in diagnostic gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology, and emphasizes the characterization of non-neoplastic and neoplastic gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreas diseases, as well as liver transplant pathology.
