Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship

There is an unexpected opening for a fellowship position in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (PGY 5 – Second Year) to begin July 1, 2021 at the University of California, Irvine. One of our current first year fellows is leaving the program by the end of April for personal reasons to pursue a career in general pediatrics. Our program is ACGME accredited and based at 3 sites: UC Irvine Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), both in Orange, CA and Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, CA. The three hospitals are designated regional NICU’s providing level III-IV neonatal care for a diverse population in Orange County, Long Beach areas and beyond. Full complement of clinical experience are offered in all 3 sites, including ECMO and open heart surgery, as well as exposure to strong regional Maternal-Fetal Medicine program with MFM fellowship. Fellows have ample research opportunities to choose from including basic science, translational and clinical research. Living in the sunny Orange County offers an abundance of exciting recreational and cultural opportunities.

Prerequisites:

Completing ACGME-approved pediatric residency training in the USA, passing USMLE (steps 1, 2 and 3) and the ability to obtain California license before (or within 90 days of) the start of training.
