General Surgery Residency - Preliminary Position

Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, located in Newark, NJ, is seeking to fill a Preliminary PGY-2 resident position in General Surgery beginning July 1, 2020.

Prerequisites:

To be eligible for this PGY-2 position, the applicant must be currently enrolled in an ACGME accredited General Surgery program and will have successfully completed a PGY-1 year of General Surgery training by June 30, 2020.

1. Current CV including a photograph
2. Three (3) CURRENT letters of recommendation: one letter must be from the current or most recent Program Director
3. All ACGME Milestones evaluations
4. ABSITE scores for each year involved in a surgical residency program
5. ACGME Defined Category Report
6. USMLE or COMLEX Scores: Step 1 – 3 7) Medical School Diploma
7. Final Medical School transcript
8. MSPE (Medical School Performance Evaluation)
9. For foreign applicants: a. A copy of the ECFMG certification. and b. J-1 visa. PLEASE NOTE: The institution accepts J-1 Visas but does not sponsor visas
10. Letter describing the reason you wish to join our program
11. Personal Statement
