General Surgery Residency-Preliminary Position

Non-Designated Preliminary PGY2 General Surgery Residency Position at the #1 referral hospital in the state of Maryland. Level 1 Trauma rotation at the world renowned Shock Trauma Center. You will rotate with our other preliminary PGY2 residents and 6 Categorical Residents on the following rotations throughout the year. -Acute Care Emergency Surgery -Vascular Surgery -Transplant Surgery -Shock Trauma -Surgical ICU -Cardiac ICU -VA General Surgery -Pediatric Surgery.

• Current CV
• Medical school diploma
• Medical school transcript
• MSPE (Dean's letter)
• Personal statement
• 3 letters of recommendation (1 from current Program Director)
• USMLE Transcript (a first-time pass on both exams is required)
• Annual Competency
• based summative evaluations from Program Director (all training years)
• PGY-1 (and PGY-2 if applicable) ABSITE Score
• Current BLS, ACLS, ATLS Certification
• List of previously completed rotations (block schedule)
• ACGME Defined Category Case logs
• ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
