Pediatric Surgery Fellowship

The laboratory provides a rich experience in both basic and clinical research for a two year research fellowship to start July 1, 2021. Our investigative interests include early predictors of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), fetal anesthesia, wound healing, various congenital anomalies and fetal diagnosis and therapy. Clinically we examine the outcomes of congenital anomalies such congenital diaphragmatic hernia, sacrococcygeal teratoma, omphalocele and congenital lung masses. Fellows in our laboratory can engage in a wide variety of basic science and clinical research projects. There is the opportunity to maintain surgical skills, performing large animal surgery (pigs and sheep) as well as microsurgery.
