Medical Biochemical Genetics Fellowship

This one-year training program provides additional training in the diagnosis and management of inborn errors of metabolism. Medical Biochemical Genetics fellows benefit from Baylor’s vast laboratory and clinical genetics programs.

Medical Biochemical Genetics is a training pathway that is accredited by the ACGME RRC for medical genetics. Board-certification is available through the ABMGG.

Prerequisites:

Fellowship candidates must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Medical Genetics or have completed a Medical Genetics combined residency program recognized by the ABMGG to be eligible for the fellowship.

In addition, it is required that applicants are able to successfully obtain a physician licensure from the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. Fellows may need to apply for a physician-in-training permit if they are not eligible for physician licensure by the commencement of training. This program does not participate in the NRMP.

The application portal opens on July 15 and the submission deadline is Sept. 30. Interviews are granted based upon review of the application packet and there is no set time frame.
