Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship

As a fellow, you will train under some of the nation’s top clinicians, educators and researchers. We have a highly collaborative faculty network, formal research seminars, informal presentations, journal reviews and didactic lectures that will stimulate your intellect and encourage you in the development of an outstanding career. Fellows who complete training in our programs will be eligible for board certification.

Our Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship offers one year of training with an option to do additional years of research. You will learn about neuromuscular diseases in both children and adults with an emphasis on diagnosis and therapeutic regimens. An integral part of your training will be interpretation of muscle and nerve biopsies and electrodiagnostic testing. You are encouraged to become involved in clinical research during this year and will be eligible to sit for the added qualification in neuromuscular diseases board when the year is complete.

Application requirements include:

• Completed application form
• Transcript of medical school grades
• Three letters of recommendation from physicians you have worked with, addressed to Bakri Elsheikh, MBBS
• Curriculum vitae
• U.S. Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) score

Copy of your Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate if you are a foreign medical graduate
