Administration Fellowship in Emergency Medicine

Administration Fellowship in Emergency Medicine

This two-year fellowship in administration is based on a rigorous, individualized executive training curriculum designed to produce thought leaders in emergency medicine. The fellowship includes a broad range of educational and experiential opportunities that will build leadership competencies while providing the freedom to create a unique niche in emergency medicine. Operational skill sets and project management experiences are enhanced through projects for which the fellow has primary responsibility.

The fellow will identify key committee experiences, medical director tasks, board of director involvement and educational and research projects in which to participate. The fellow will also work with department and medical center leadership to gain experience in strategic planning and overall medical center administration. The fellow will complete a master’s degree with diverse degree options including MBA, MHA, MPH with a health services management emphasis and even a unique Master of Business Operational Excellence. The fellow has the opportunity to enroll in the ACEP director's academy or similar in educational course work.

Prerequisites:

The fellow is required to complete a master's degree in order to graduate from the fellowship, which is the primary reason why the fellowship is two years in duration. We feel strongly that any executive training program must include formal management training and this requirement helps to further differentiate our fellowship from other administrative fellowships from around the country.

An Ohio medical license will be required before starting the fellowship. To start the application process, you must be a graduate from an emergency medicine residency program.

How To Apply:

To apply, submit all required materials to Jeanine Hatfield at [email protected].
