Neuro-Immunology and Multiple Sclerosis Fellowship

Neuro-Immunology and Multiple Sclerosis Fellowship

The Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis Fellowship Program at Barrow Neurological Institute offers a one–year, fully funded fellowship of clinical and research training for those who have completed an adult or a pediatric neurology residency. The program’s goal is to give trainees the opportunity to:

  • Develop expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS), neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, transverse myelitis, autoimmune encephalitis, and other related diseases in neuroimmunology.
  • Participate in clinical/research training in neuroimmunology that is specific to the fellows’ interests.
  • Participate as sub-investigators in clinical trials for hands-on experience in trial development and patient outcomes.

Clinical training includes mostly an outpatient experience in the Barrow Neuroimmunology and MS Program. There is no responsibility for overnight or weekend call. The fellow is expected to participate in monthly MS journal clubs, as well as departmental grand rounds and case conferences. There are multiple opportunities for resident and medical student teaching, including required lectures given to medical students by the fellow.
