Hospital Medicine Fellowship

Hospital Medicine Fellowship

Hospital Medicine is the fastest growing medical specialty and requires a diverse and unique skill set. Hospitalists must be able to care for acutely ill adults with a wide spectrum of diseases while engaging in effective interprofessional teamwork and transitions of care that are unique to the inpatient setting. Additionally, successful academic hospitalists develop meaningful and satisfying careers by augmenting their direct patient care responsibilities through clinical research, quality improvement, and the science of healthcare delivery, and educating learners in the hospital environment.

Training in Mayo Clinic's Hospital Medicine Fellowship prepares internal medicine specialists for careers as clinician-researchers, improvement leaders, or clinician-educators with expertise in managing acutely ill, complex medical patients.
