The General Surgery residency program at Huntington Hospital, a 619-bed not-for-profit community hospital, includes a diverse curriculum emphasizing clinical excellence.
General surgery residents receive an individualized learning experience and benefit from close interaction with our teaching staff.
The general surgery residency program is under the direction of Steven G. Katz, MD, program director.
Many of our teaching faculty hold clinical faculty appointments at Keck School of Medicine. Our residents are actively involved in research with annual presentations and there is regular activity at national and local conferences. Teaching conferences are held weekly and our faculty is dedicated to successful training of our future surgeons, as evidenced by our excellent board passage rate.
