Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship

The Department of Emergency Medicine at UAB offers a one-year fellowship training program in emergency ultrasound. The training program is designed to give graduates of emergency medicine residency programs the knowledge and skills to become ultrasound program directors and leaders in the field of emergency ultrasound. The Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship is dedicated to providing extensive experience in clinical ultrasound skills as well as education, program administration, and research.

UAB University Hospital is the regional referral center for head and spinal cord trauma, burns, stroke, cardiac, neonatal, and psychiatric disorders, serving a combined volume of more than 120,000 patient visits per year with a wide variety of medical and surgical illness. There are more than 40 medical/surgical beds and a large, ultramodern trauma/burn/medical resuscitation unit within our expansive 40,000 square-foot emergency department.
