The Medical Education Fellowship in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Ohio State University prepares graduates as leaders and scholars in medical education. Medical Education fellows will join the 20 core education faculty and 70+ faculty in Emergency Medicine in delivering high-quality didactic and clinical instruction while building their own educator portfolios in preparation for a career as a leader in academic emergency medicine or undergraduate medical education.
Fellows will have ample opportunity for education leadership, scholarship, and administration. During fellowship, fellows may elect to serve as an Interim Assistant Program Director and/or Interim Assistant Clerkship Director.
In addition to local faculty didactics and experiential learning, fellows also have access to the resources of our university system including tuition support to pursue a Master of Arts in Biomedical Education at The Ohio State University. Fellows receive generous support from the department to pursue certificate programs sponsored by national organizations such as the ACEP Teaching Fellowship, MERC at CORD, and SAEM ARMED MedEd, as well as to attend national conferences in Emergency Medicine and Medical Education.
