Transplant Surgery Research Fellowship

Transplant Surgery Research Fellowship

The Columbia University Transplant Surgery Program together with the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology are offering a 2-year NIH-funded research position. The laboratory studies immunology in our large cohort of transplant recipients and also in various large animal transplant models (primate and pig).

Fellows can expect to gain significant surgical experience in our animal models (including kidney, intestine, and multivisceral transplants), broad understanding of transplant immunology, and exposure to several clinical and research leaders in the field of transplantation. Immunology background and basic science benchwork experience (cell cultures, ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry) are helpful but not mandatory.

Qualified applicants should have completed at least PGY2-level surgical training. Preference will be given to those in American general surgery training programs. Start date flexible.
