Hospital Medicine Fellowship

Thank you for your interest in UCSF Fresno Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program. UCSF Fresno Community Regional Medical Center is dedicated to serving the diverse population of the Central Valley of California, and provides many specialists and medical innovation to this medically underserved area of California.

We are excited to introduce our new Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program that will expand the career paths for the future leaders in Hospital Medicine offering training in research, teaching, and clinical experience with supervision and mentorship of very experienced academic hospital medicine faculty.

Our curriculum is multi-faceted and offers experiences that provide a variety of opportunities to reach career goals with close mentorship from the academic hospital medicine faculty in a one-year hospital medicine fellowship program. Research skills are developed through a partnership with UCSF San Francisco campus participating in a 7-week clinical research skills workshop which will occur early in the fellowship.

Prerequisites:

To be eligible for an appointment contract for residency training with “The University of California” all current or expected trainees must possess one of the following for the duration of all anticipated years of training:

• be a United States citizen
• be in possession of a green card
• be in possession of an EAD (work permit)

The University does not sponsor H-1B visas. Please contact individual programs regarding their policy on sponsoring H-1B visas.

Additional Information for Foreign Medical Graduates

You must be in possession of an ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) certificate in order to complete residency training in the United States. Please visit the ECFMG website at www.ecfmg.org for additional information on how to obtain certification.
