Liver Transplant Anesthesia Fellowship

Ochsner offers one position each year for a 1-year non-ACGME accredited program in Liver Transplant Anesthesia at its Jefferson Highway campus in New Orleans LA.

Louisiana’s first liver transplant was performed at Ochsner Medical Center in 1975. Since that time, more than 2500 adult and pediatric liver transplant operations have been performed. In 2019, Ochsner performed 224 liver transplants making it a continuing leader among U.S. medical centers. Ochsner also performs living donor transplants, pediatric liver transplants, liver-kidney transplants, kidney transplants and kidney-pancreas transplants. This case mix provides the fellow with an excellent clinical experience in the complex management of abdominal organ transplantation.

Prerequisites:

The position is open to physician applicants who have completed an ABA accredited anesthesiology residency training program and are board eligible.
