General Surgery Residency - Categorical Position

Prerequisites:

To be eligible, applicants must currently be enrolled in an ACGME accredited General Surgery residency program and will have successfully completed PGY-1 and PGY-2 years of general surgery training by June 30, 2020. The two years of training must be consecutive (no gaps in training years) and must be completed in the same program. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and have passed USMLE Step 3 to be considered. A California Postgraduate Training License (PTL) must be obtained within 180 days of start date in order to continue in the program.

How To Apply:

Your application must include all of the following documents in the order listed below:

1. Current Curriculum Vitae
2. Letter of Recommendation from your current Program Director
3. Two additional letters of recommendation from faculty surgeons with whom you have worked with as a PGY-1 and/or PGY-2. 4. ABSITE score reports from all years of training
4. USLME Scores (Steps I, II and III) passed on the first attempt
5. ACGME Case Log Year 2 Minimum Report as of date of application
6. ACGME Case Logs Defined Category Minimum Report as of date of application
7. List of all previously completed rotations
8. Copies of all mid-year and year-end evaluations by Program Director (including Surgery Milestones Evaluation)
9. Documentation of ACLS, BLS, and ATLS
10. Copy of FLS and FES certification if applicable
11. Copy of current medical license if applicable
12. Medical School Transcript and Dean’s Letter
13. Medical School Diploma
14. ECFMG certificate if applicable
