Cardiac Intensive Care Fellowship

The Heart Program at Nicklaus Children's Hospital is recruiting a senior fellow in cardiac intensive care medicine. This 1-2 year fellowship is clinically oriented and will be located primarily at the Miami campus. The cardiac intensive care unit at Nicklaus Children's Hospital has 16 acute beds and is part of our 27-bed Pediatric Cardiac Care Center. The multidisciplinary unit specializes in providing care to patients with congenital or acquired heart disease ranging in age from newborn to adult. There are over 1000 total admissions a year to the ICU, and the program supports one of the largest surgical and interventional cardiac catheterization services in the southeast.

This clinically oriented program is flexible enough to provide training to most subspecialists who contribute to the care of these patients, including board eligible or certified physicians in cardiology, critical care, neonatology or anesthesiology. The fellowship is flexible and will be adjusted to provide maximum benefit to applicants from the various subspecialties. Rotations include cardiac anesthesia, echocardiography, cardiac catheterization and perfusion/cardiopulmonary bypass.
