The podiatry residency is a three-year program providing comprehensive training in primary care and surgery of the foot and ankle. One of the country’s leading podiatric residencies, our program is centered at Rush North Shore Medical Center in Skokie, Illinois, a highly respected community hospital closely affiliated with Rush University Medical Center. Rush North Shore’s outstanding work environment includes a busy emergency room and a high volume of inpatients, ensuring a challenging and engaging training experience.
The podiatry residency benefits from all of Rush’s resources and clinical teaching programs and has a strong relationship with the cardiovascular, orthopedics, internal medicine, general surgery and plastic surgery departments.
We are proud to prepare outstanding physicians for successful careers in podiatric medicine and surgery. Our graduates are eligible to become board-certified in forefoot and rearfoot/ankle reconstructive surgery and have the experience, knowledge and confidence to succeed in any type of practice setting.

We fill one residency position each year and participate in the Central Application Service for Podiatric Residencies for resident selection. Please follow the standard podiatric application process if interested.
