Pulmonology Fellowship

Pulmonology Fellowship

The Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship Training Program at UNMC and Children’s Nebraska offers three years of clinical and research training in pulmonary medicine for graduates of accredited general pediatrics residency programs. The program is fully accredited by the American Council on Graduate Medical Education and the American Board of Pediatrics.

The first year emphasizes clinical training and an introduction to research. Fellows are exposed to a wide variety of clinical problems from the common chronic cough and wheeze patient to the more complex chronic lung disease patient. During the second and third years of training fellows have protected time to focus on their scholarly activity and elective rotations. Given the size of our program, fellows have the opportunity to create their own unique experience while becoming board eligible.

Our faculty are committed to sharing their knowledge and experience with the fellows and fellows considered invaluable members of the healthcare team. Our goal is to train excellent academic pediatric pulmonologists who are able to provide exceptional patient care, educate the next generation of pediatric pulmonologists and further their research career.
