The fellowship program in Headache Medicine is the only such program in the state of West Virginia. It is fully accredited by United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. This one-year training program accepts one fellow per year.
The West Virginia University (WVU) Headache Medicine fellowship aims at providing a strong clinical training in the evaluation and management of patients with complex headache disorders. The trainee will see headache outpatients in several settings including the outpatient infusion program. In addition, the fellow is expected to participate in clinical research and scholarly activity. Fellows will also get the opportunity to rotate with other relevant specialties over the course of their fellowship period including interventional pain management, neuro-ophthalmology, orofacial pain, and addiction medicine.
