Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship

Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship

The Division of Musculoskeletal Imaging in the Department of Radiology of Duke University Medical Center has a Fellowship position opening starting July 1, 2024. Applicants must meet the requirements for a North Carolina Medical License.

The Duke Musculoskeletal Imaging fellowship is a one year fellowship designed to provide training applicable to a future career in either academic or private practice radiology. Duke University Health System is a tertiary care center, and we see a diverse array of pathology including sports medicine, orthopedic oncology, rheumatology, spine, and trauma.

Diagnostic experience is provided in radiography, ultrasound, CT, and MR imaging. Procedural experience includes arthrography with fluoroscopic assistance (both for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes), and image-guided biopsies, utilizing both ultrasound and CT fluoroscopy. We enjoy a friendly work environment and a collegial relationship with the clinicians of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery as well as the other clinical departments and divisions in the Health System including Sports Medicine, Neurosurgery, Radiation Oncology, Pathology, and Rheumatology.

There are eight full time faculty in the Division of Musculoskeletal Imaging, and all are dedicated to resident and fellow education. The Department of Radiology supports a large residency program, and each musculoskeletal fellow is given opportunities in teaching at both the medical student and resident levels.

Prerequisites:

A North Carolina Medical Board license to practice medicine and credentialing from the Duke University Medical Center are also required prior to beginning training, and it is the responsibility of the accepted applicant to obtain these.
