Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship

This diagnostic radiology cardiothoracic imaging fellowship is designed to enhance the radiologist’s knowledge of cardiac diseases and proficiency in computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging as primary imaging tools. The graduate will be subspecialized and able to work independently in planning imaging protocols and interpreting and diagnosing cardiac disease in order to deliver excellence in patient care.

Our University of Miami/Jackson Health System Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship offers a one year, non-ACGME accredited fellowship as part of the University of Miami’s Department of Diagnostic Radiology.

This is a comprehensive fellowship that will focus on cardiac computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, while also offering thoracic advanced imaging, including computed tomography angiogram, magnetic resonance angiography and magnetic resonance imaging. Imaging is performed at multiple locations including both inpatient and outpatient facilities and hospitals.

Prerequisites:

Medical Licensing Examination:
All applicants must successfully complete Step 1 and Step 2 Clinical Knowledge and Step 2 Clinical Skills of the United States Medical Licensing Examination prior to acceptance into the program.

Applicants must also be eligible for Step 3, prior to acceptance. Foreign medical graduates are required to have the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates certification.

Postgraduate Training:
There is postgraduate training required in the form of a successfully completed four-year residency program in diagnostic radiology.
