Selma Family Medicine Hospitalist Fellowship

Our Selma Family Medicine Hospitalist Fellowship is a year-long, certificate program for family medicine physicians seeking deeper expertise in providing hospital-based care and one of only a few nationwide that include a rural focus. Our goal is to train family physicians who provide outstanding collaborative and comprehensive inpatient care and be the future leaders in hospital medicine.

The fellowship offers one-on-one supervision from a Hospitalist Service attending physician. The fellowship is housed at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, a sole 175-bed community hospital with open ICU, and our fellow participates in hospital processes including quality improvement, utilization review and medical education.

Prerequisites:

• Graduate of an ACGME-accredited family medicine residency program
• Applicants must be Board Eligible/Board Certified
• Applicants must obtain an unrestricted Alabama medical license and controlled substance certificate
• Applicants must obtain DEA certification
