Women's Heart Disease and Health Fellowship

Women's Heart Disease and Health Fellowship

The Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center, part of the Smidt Heart Institute, plays a leading role in identifying female-pattern heart disease, developing new diagnostic tools and advancing specialized care for women.

The Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center Fellowship in Women's Heart Disease and Health at Cedars-Sinai is designed to accomplish several goals:

  • Provide focused training in clinical, basic and translational research in cardiovascular disease in women, and sex and gender differences in cardiovascular health and disease.
  • Provide training in the comprehensive care of women across their lifespans.
  • Train practitioners in research, teaching, health administration and policy in women's health.
  • Respond to the needs of residents, fellows, faculty and volunteer staff in regard to their work on women's health issues at Cedars-Sinai and in the community.

Two fellow positions are available each academic year for the one-year fellowship, which is not accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Selected fellows can be invited to complete a second year.
