General Surgery Residency - Preliminary Position

General Surgery Residency - Preliminary Position

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) has a General Surgery PGY1 Preliminary position available for the 2022-2023 academic year.

The General Surgery Residency program at OHSU is one of the nation's largest, graduating 13 residents per year. In addition to its size, the program is unique as it offers a breadth of diversity in training via rotations at different hospitals in the Portland area, including a University-based medical center, a VA medical center, two children's hospitals, an HMO, and community-based hospitals. Residents are exposed to a wide variety of teaching and practice models. The program also offers a rural rotation option at two sites in Oregon for residents at the third- and fourth-year training levels. We are proud to supplement clinical rotations with skills labs utilizing space in OHSU's state-of-the-art VirtuOHSU Simulation and Surgical Training Center (VSSTC). The VSSTC supports open, laparoscopic, endoscopic, and microscopic technical skills training using task trainers, virtual reality, synthetic, animal, and cadaveric tissues.
