Independent Interventional Radiology Residency

Geisinger Medical Center is seeking to fill an R5 (PGY6) year Independent Interventional Radiology residency position. Expected start date is July 1, 2022.

Geisinger Medical Center Independent Interventional Radiology Residency Program is a fully ACGME accredited one or two-year training program in Interventional Radiology in Danville, PA. Candidates who have completed the Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology Program (ESIR) during their diagnostic radiology residency will be required to complete one year of interventional radiology residency. Candidates without ESIR certification will be required to complete two years. The residency training program core faculty consists of six board certified IR attending physicians at the medical center in Danville, PA. Residents also have the opportunity to rotate at Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Wilkes Barre, PA, working with an additional four board certified IR attending physicians. Each independent IR resident graduating from Geisinger performs between 900 to 1300 procedures per year.

Prerequisites:

Eligible candidates must be in good academic and professional standing. Applicant requirements include successful completion of an ACGME-accredited internship and four years of radiology residency by the start date. The successful resident will be filling one of the two positions for the 2022-2023 year.
