General Surgery Residency-Categorical Position

Berkshire Medical Center General Surgery Residency Program is looking to fill an open Categorical PGY-4 position, to begin duties on July 1, 2022.

Prerequisites:

The qualified candidate must have successfully completed the PGY-1, PGY-2, and PGY-3 years, from an ACGME -accredited program by June 30, 2022, in general surgery, in good standing. Consideration will be given to trainees in research programs, who have completed a PGY-3 year, within the past 24 months.

If remediation or probation was provided during your training, please provide a detailed narrative explanation.

  • Current Curriculum Vitae,
  • Photograph,
  • Personal Statement,
  • Medical School Transcript and Dean’s Letter,
  • Medical School Diploma,
  • ECFMG certificate (if applicable),
  • USMLE Scores (Steps 1, 2, 3) and/or COMLEX Scores ,
  • ABSITE Exam Reports from each year of training,
  • Current Defined Category and Minimum Case Report,
  • Annual Competency-Based Summative Evaluation for all years of training,
  • List of Completed Rotations for All Years of Training,
  • Current ACLS/BLS, ATLS, FLS, FES certificates (if applicable),
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation, to include letter from current/most recent Program Director (LORs can be submitted separately),
  • Detailed explanation for any remediation or probation during residency training,
  • Current US Citizenship, Green Card or J-1 Visa Status only.
