Integrative Family Medicine Fellowship

Integrative Family Medicine Fellowship

The Institute for Family Health is pleased to offer the Institute for Family Health Integrative Family Medicine Fellowship. This one-year fellowship provides family physicians Integrative Family Medicine skills in an underserved setting, while also developing skills in academic medicine. It is accredited by the American Board of Physician Specialties, allowing our graduates to sit for the American Board of Integrative Medicine exam.

The fellowship is based out of the Mount Sinai Downtown Residency in Urban Family Medicine and the Harlem Residency in Family Medicine.

The Integrative Family Medicine experience occurs both in the primary care and consultative contexts. Academic opportunities include mentorship in precepting residents, teaching medical students, and collaboration in residency curriculum initiatives. Involvement in research projects is also available. Didactics and case conferences occur weekly offering an opportunity to collaborate in a collegial, inter-professional setting. There are also 200 hours of online curriculum available, designed in conjunction with the University of Arizona’s Program in Integrative Medicine. The fellow also has the opportunity to learn a specific skill set, such as acupuncture, homeopathy, or hypnosis.
