Burn Fellowship

The Burn Fellowship at the Keck School of Medicine of USC’s plastic and reconstructive surgery division is a non-accredited, one-year clinical training experience based in the Burn Unit at the Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center, with rotations at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center and the Shriners for Children Medical Center.

The Burn Unit is verified by the American Burn Association/American College of Surgeons and admits 400 adult and pediatric patients each year. The fellowship includes all aspects of acute and reconstructive burn care as well as adult and pediatric intensive care.

By the completion of the fellowship, the trainee will be experienced in resuscitation, operative treatment, critical care, rehabilitation and burn scar reconstruction The burn fellow functions as a junior attending participating in all aspects of burn care. There is ample opportunity for basic science and clinical research.

Prerequisites:

Applicants must have completed a minimum of three years of clinical training in plastic or general surgery and be eligible for licensing in California.
