Position Summary The Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery at UNC-Chapel Hill is accepting applications for a 2-year funded Colorectal Research Fellowship with a focus on assessment of rectal cancer response to neoadjuvant therapy, hereditary and early-age-of onset colorectal cancer and surgical disparities research. This research program recently relocated to UNC with a robust track record of productivity and past NIH funding.

The goal of the program is to provide an opportunity to conduct meaningful clinical, translational, health services research in a mentored and supervised environment. Expectations include conducting research leading to peer reviewed publications and presentation at national meetings. Dedicated Departmental statistical support, Research Coordinator and Research Administrator help facilitate protocol development, IRB submission and grant writing.

Prerequisites:

We are seeking candidates who will have completed a minimum of two (2) years of training in an ACGME-accredited general surgery residency program preferably in the USA or Canada. We will consider exceptional candidates from international programs.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
