The division of cardiothoracic surgery and thoracic transplantation at USF Health Tampa General Hospital has openings for fellowship in our mechanical circulatory support and thoracic transplantation program starting September 1, 2022.
The fellowship is a one-year Non ACGME program that provides surgical fellows with exposure to temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support device selection and implantation, heart transplantation, and lung transplantation. The fellow will receive training in all aspects of care in patient care from preoperative evaluation management and listing, donor procurement, implantation, and peri operative patient care. Participation in multidisciplinary team discussions, conferences and research activities is expected.
Ideal candidates must have successfully completed at least 5 years of general surgery training from an accredited program in the USA or At least five years if surgical training in a non-US accredited residency program and be ECFMG certified.
