Pediatric Surgical Critical Care Fellowship

Pediatric Surgical Critical Care Fellowship

The pediatric surgical critical care (PSCC) fellows are integrated into the training programs of the adult surgical critical care fellows and anesthesia critical care fellows.

The PSCC fellow spends 4 months in the adult SICU, and two months in the adult CTICU. They also do a month of MICU. On the peds side, the fellow does 1 month in the PICU, 2months in the NICU, and has two elective months. Those months can be pediatric surgery, neuro ICU, anesthesia, or adult mechanical circulatory support (adult VAD/ECMO). At the successful completion of the 1 year fellowship, they will be eligible for ABS Board Certification in Surgical Critical Care. The fellowship is through the Section of Pediatric Surgery, but for those applicants more interested in Adult Surgical Critical Care, the rotation is adjusted to increase time on the adult side. The start date can be adjusted up, from 7/1/2022 - 8/1/2022.
