General Surgery Residency - Categorical Position

General Surgery Residency - Categorical Position

Einstein Healthcare Network has an unexpected opening for a PGY 3 CATEGORICAL general surgery resident starting July 1, 2022 - or as close to that date as possible. Due to short notice, we will provide individual orientation and understand a brief delay in start date will be necessary.

We are located in North Philadelphia and are an independent academic program with a particular focus on complex, high-acuity surgical care. With a busy Level 1 trauma center and a nationally recognized multi-organ transplantation center, we care for some of the sickest patients in Philadelphia. Einstein has recently merged with Jefferson Health and now is part of one of the largest healthcare systems in the country. Our residents are technically superb and confident—graduating with some of the highest surgical volumes in the U.S. An early and deep experience in the SICU prepares them to expertly care for critically ill patients. Our trainees secure competitive and prestigious fellowships year after year. Our residents go to CHOP for pediatric surgery. Fox Chase Cancer center for thoracic surgery and now rotate at New Jersey Jefferson for high volume elective general and vascular surgery. Our faculty-led didactic teaching conferences are well organized and comprehensive. We supplement SCORE’s TWIS curriculum with faculty lectures, mock oral examinations, a textbook conference, and a robust simulation curriculum. Our program has zero citations.
