The Introperative Performance Analytics Laboratory (IPal) at Northwell Health is looking for a Research Fellow to replace the current who is going back to clinical duties. The lab is mostly focused on using new technologies in the operating room including AI and computer vision, kinematics and surgical simulation. We have strong partnerships with the industry including Intuitive Surgical, J&J/CSATS, Surgical Safety Technologies and through those and proprietary software/hardware we create predictive models to improve surgical outcomes.
Strong emphasis on engineering and modeling. The ideal candidate would be a Surgical Resident currently looking to take off some time from clinical duties with some knowledge of either advanced statistics/complex models, machine learning/computer vision or biomedical engineering. This is a funded opportunity mainly based in Manhattan at Lenox Hill Hospital. Start date is June 16 2022 and position will be for 1 to 2 years.
