Critical Care Anesthesiology Fellowship

Critical Care Anesthesiology Fellowship

The University of Alabama at Birmingham has 3 available post-match vacancies for their Critical Care Medicine Fellowship to start in July 2021.

The Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine fellowship strives to transform the field of critical care medicine by generating and translating knowledge into superior clinical practice and education. We will provide the highest quality compassionate care to our patients through the use of innovative practice models and an interdisciplinary approach to medical care, discover new knowledge through cutting-edge research, educate the next generation of leaders in critical care medicine, and be effective leaders within our profession.

The Critical Care Medicine Fellowship consists of one year (clinical) or two years (combined clinical and research) of postgraduate training after satisfactory completion of a residency program in anesthesiology. The fellowship program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The program has five fellowship positions each year.

The Critical Care Medicine fellowship at UAB is at the epicenter of a rapidly growing and cutting-edge critical care enterprise. While UAB Critical Care has always excelled in education and clinical training, we have created new opportunities for fellows to gain invaluable knowledge and experience in a variety of areas. Additionally, as of academic year 2013, we have expanded our number of positions to five from three, allowing us to give fellows more scheduling flexibility and learning opportunities.
