Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention Fellowship

Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention Fellowship

The USC Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention fellowship is a one-year program that provides robust educational experience in all facets of musculoskeletal radiology. The program is offered at 5 major facilities: Keck Hospital of USC, HealthCare Consultation Center, LAC + USC Medical Center, Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospital, and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital.

All imaging modalities including plain radiography, ultrasound, CT, and MRI are utilized for diagnosis and follow-up of a wide range of pathologies in the musculoskeletal system in our oncology, sports medicine, rheumatology, infection, and trauma services. In addition, with a busy tumor service, our fellows gain experience in PET-CT and bone scintigraphy. A myriad of imaging-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are routinely performed in our busy interventional service ranging from injections, tendon interventions, and biopsies to minimally invasive thermal ablation of bone and soft tissue tumors. Spine interventions are performed by some of our staff.

As a major academic referral center, our division enjoys a busy tumor, sports medicine and rheumatology practice. The LAC + USC Medical Center offers a unique experience in musculoskeletal trauma, infection, and oncology primarily among an indigent patient population.

We enjoy excellent relationships with our referring orthopedic surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, rheumatologists, and infectious disease specialists, and participate in multi-disciplinary conferences. Inter-departmental educational conferences as well as ample research opportunities, with support from our division staff, are available to our fellows.

At the conclusion of their training, our fellows are well- prepared for demanding practices, in both academic and private practice settings, and our wide alumni network in California and other states routinely support our graduating fellows.

The University of Southern California strongly values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity in employment. Women and men, and members of all racial and ethnic groups, are encouraged to apply.
