Advanced Thoracic Surgical Oncology Fellowship

Advanced Thoracic Surgical Oncology Fellowship

The Department of Thoracic and GI Oncology at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is now accepting applications for its 1-year fellowship in thoracic surgical oncology with an emphasis on robotic lung and esophageal surgery.

Moffitt Cancer Center is the 3rd largest cancer center in the United States. Our faculty includes 4 general thoracic surgeons and performs annually over 1000 major thoracic resections including 300 robotic lobectomies and 80 robotic esophagectomies. We only accept 1 fellow per year.

We expect a successful applicant to lead the Thoracic Service in conjunction with a PGY-2 general surgery resident from University of South Florida as well as mid-level providers. There are no other residents or fellows competing for surgical experience. The Fellow will be fully integrated in Moffitt’s multi-disciplinary thoracic clinics including direct exposure to related medical and radiation oncology as well as interventional pulmonology. It is expected of the fellow to participate in clinical research projects under the guidance of senior faculty members.

The Fellowship is offered to candidates who are board-certified or board eligible in General Surgery or Thoracic Surgery from a US or Canadian residency program.
