The Musculoskeletal Fellowship at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is a one-year, non-ACGME-accredited program that admits one fellow per year.
The Musculoskeletal Fellowship allows the fellow to be fully integrated into the musculoskeletal section to work closely with faculty in interpreting radiographs, CT, MR and ultrasound studies of the musculoskeletal system.
The fellow will also perform CT and ultrasound-guided biopsies as well as therapeutic and diagnostic joint injections. Several didactic and interdisciplinary clinical case conferences, as well as a weekly journal club, support the fellowship educational experience.
Fellows are appointed to the faculty as clinical instructors and participate in independent interpretations of general radiology studies on call and in the emergency department in an effort to maintain and develop universal skills.
Elective time in other radiology disciplines is available to augment the musculoskeletal education.
Fellows receive faculty benefits. This includes 20 vacation days as well as a book and travel fund.
