Diagnostic Radiology Residency

We are currently interviewing for twelve first-year radiology residents to join our program during academic year 2021-2022. Please note that academic years at the University of Florida run from July 1 to June 30. The deadline to apply is October 15th.

Prerequisites:

All individuals seeking to apply to the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program in the Department of Radiology with the College of Medicine at the University of Florida must have satisfactorily completed a clinical year of training accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or equivalent organization in internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery or surgical specialties, obstetrics and gynecology, neurology, family medicine, emergency medicine, or any combination of these. The clinical year may also comprise a transitional year accredited by the ACGME or equivalent organization.

In addition to the items listed above, students and graduates of foreign medical schools must provide the following verifications:

  • ECFMG Certification
  • J-1 Visa status (please note that we only accept J-1 visas)
  • United States residency status (permanent resident, naturalized citizen, etc)
  • Two years of experience in the US (preferred)
  • Proof of passing USMLE Step I and II

How To Apply:

To apply to the residency program, you must submit your application materials through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) of the American Medical Association (AMA).

Applications are complete when the following information is received through ERAS:

  • Common Application Form (CAF)
  • Personal Statement
  • Medical School Transcript
  • Dean’s Letter
  • Three Letters of Recommendation (one of these letters should come from a radiologist)
  • An official copy of your USMLE Scores (competitive applicants include those that have USMLE Scores at 220 or above) or proof of passing COMLEX-USA score (competitive score = 600 or above)
