Complex Spine Surgery Fellowship

The Department of Neurosurgery is pleased to offer 12 months of post-residency training in Complex Spine Surgery. The program is designed to provide a qualified orthopedic or neurological surgeon with experience and expertise in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of complex spinal disorders not considered part of routine residency training. The fellowship is structured to promote further acquisition of knowledge and skills in the subspecialty pertaining particularly to degenerative disease, blunt and penetrating trauma, infection, spinal oncology, and deformity, making use of both traditional and minimally invasive surgical techniques.

This experience in Complex Spine Surgery is under the direction of specified clinical faculty, providing the trainee with organized, comprehensive, supervised, full-time educational exposure in the field of spinal neurosurgery. Responsibilities will be centered on clinical evaluation, diagnosis, performance of surgical procedures, and integration of non-operative and surgical therapies in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
