Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship

Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship

The cardiothoracic imaging fellowship will provide subspecialty training in cardiopulmonary imaging at NYU Langone Health. The fellow will receive ample clinical experience, educational training, and research opportunities directed towards development as a cardiopulmonary radiologist. This fellowship is a merging of the prior Thoracic and Cardiac Imaging Fellowship and Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship.

The thoracic and cardiac imaging sections provide clinical service for the hospitals of NYU Langone Health, including Kimmel Pavilion, NYU Langone Brooklyn, and NYU Orthopedic Hospital, in addition to Bellevue Medical Center. Through our PACS system, we also interpret examinations from the several outpatient imaging centers of NYU including the Schwartz Ambulatory Cancer Center, NYU Perlmutter Cancer Center, and NYU Langone Faculty Group Practice. The combined Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship will allow intensive exposure to both thoracic and cardiac imaging, ranging from radiography to advanced training in thoracic CT, cardiac CTA, and MR. The fellows will work with a total of 20 cardiothoracic imagers, including 11 dedicated thoracic imagers, 1 dedicated cardiac imager, 1 cardiac/body imager, 4 who read both chest and cardiac studies, and 3 who are also clinical cardiologists or pediatric cardiologists. The cardiothoracic fellows will have thoracic interventional procedures as part of their training, including biopsy and ablative therapies, supervised by members in the thoracic section.
