Nuclear Medicine Residency

The University of Iowa's Department of Radiology offers excellent training in Nuclear Medicine. Our faculty, fellows and residents come from all over the U.S. and countries outside, making the Iowa experience a diverse and welcoming experience. How To Apply:

To apply for the Nuclear Medicine Residency Program, applicants must submit the following:

  • Nuclear Medicine Residency Application
  • Medical school transcript
  • Minimum of 3 letters of recommendation (including one from the dean of the medical school)
  • Curriculum vita
  • Personal statement giving a summary of your past training background, areas of particular strength and interest and a brief description of how you would hope to utilize and apply your medical training
  • Photograph

For graduates of medical schools outside the United States and Canada, you must also submit:

  • Scores for USMLE Steps 1 and 2
    • Scores must be available before you can be considered for an interview
  • Statement of visa status
    • We sponsor J1 and H1 visas.

Following review of the application materials, a selection committee will invite candidates to interview.
