Transplant Hepatology Fellowship

Transplant Hepatology Fellowship

Our ACGME-accredited fellowship training program in Transplant Hepatology provides trainees with an exceptional clinical experience across all facets of liver disease. Fellows are integrated into our division as colleagues and rotate through all key areas of patient care in a structured experience that is optimized to equip you with every skill required to promote career success. In this final year of graduate medical training, we offer a structured a curriculum and mentorship plan to enable you to excel as a transplant hepatologist in any practice setting. Our hospital, which is at the crossroads of many cultures and populations, offers an unusually diverse patient population and rich experience that will be a fitting capstone to your career training.

We perform a high volume of liver transplants (over 120 annually), including living donation and multi-visceral transplantation. As a prominent referral center to other health care systems near and far, we care for patients with a high level of medical complexity and work in teams to address socioeconomic hurdles and achieve success for our patients.

The program benefits from an extremely large hepatology faculty (> 40 individuals) with a range of expertise covering all aspects of clinical and translational hepatology to provide expert mentoring and research opportunities. All trainees continue to improve their endoscopy skills during their hepatology training, and additionally become skilled in percutaneous liver biopsy. Scholarly activity for fellows, a vital aspect of the curriculum, is fostered through personalized research mentorship and fellow-led academic activities.
